JBH Names New COO

Jeff Benton Homes (JBH) of Huntsville Alabama, has selected Bob Whitten as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). 

Mr. Whitten brings more than 30 years of management experience to his new position. Formerly a managing partner with one of the nation’s leading consulting firms advising the homebuilding industry, Mr. Whitten also served as Executive Vice President (EVP) and COO of Land Solutions, a Florida-based land development firm, as EVP for Cooper Homes, the homebuilding division of Cooper Communities, as Chief Operations and Financial Officer of Wayne Homes of Ohio, and Director of Business Management for the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB). 

Mr. Whitten is the author of the best-selling NAHB book Building Partnerships: How to Work with Trade Contractors and has conducted more than 500 industry-related workshops and seminars. 

Mr. Whitten’s areas of homebuilding-industry expertise include:

• Accounting and financial management
• Management reporting
• Software selection
• Organizational development
• Incentive compensation systems development
• Cost control system implementation
