JBH Release Fourth Quarter Closing Figures

Huntsville, Alabama homebuilder Jeff Benton Homes has announced that the company closed 74 new homes during the fourth quarter of 2009: 26 in October, 20 in November and 28 in December. These closings generated a company-record quarterly volume of $21,781,038.

“These are extremely gratifying figures, especially when you consider the country’s current economic challenges”, said Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Finance Mark Dunaway. “We saw the market pick up somewhat in mid-2009 and were actually able to generate 42% of our closing volume for the year during the fourth quarter.”

“In fact, October 2009 was the biggest month in Jeff Benton Homes’ history to that point. October and November then became our two biggest months, and then December broke the record again to become our all-time record month. While we can attribute some of this surge to the federal tax credit, we also believe this economy is giving homebuyers an even greater incentive to work with a builder they can count on.”

“As an example, Madison County new home building starts were down 32% during the period 2007 through 2009. In contrast, Jeff Benton Homes’ closings were up 12% during that time.”
